Empowering Black Women with MS & Lupus

We Empowering Black Women with MS & Lupus is a powerful 4-part virtual series created specifically for Black women living with multiple sclerosis or lupus — because navigating chronic illness while feeling unheard, overlooked, exhausted, or dismissed should never be the norm.

Sponsored by GSK and presented in partnership with Wellstar Health System and Shepherd Center, this culturally relevant program combines expert medical insight, mental health support, and real conversations about what it actually looks like to advocate for yourself while living with complex autoimmune disease.

Throughout the series, participants will connect with neurologists, rheumatologists, nurses, case managers, a licensed mental health professional, and other Black women who truly get it. Together, we’ll discuss the emotional toll of chronic illness, navigating healthcare systems, asking the right questions, managing burnout, and building the confidence to take charge of your care journey.

If you’ve ever left an appointment feeling unseen, struggled to explain your symptoms, questioned yourself, or simply wished for community and support from people who understand your experience — this space was created with you in mind.

Topics Include:

• Monday, June 8 — Ask the Doctors (Neurologists & Rheumatologists)
• Tuesday, June 9 — Group Therapy
• Wednesday, June 10 — Ask the Nurse
• Thursday, June 11 — Ask the Case Manager
