Love in Action: Supporting Someone I Love

Love in Action: Supporting Someone I Love is a two-part virtual series designed for spouses, partners, siblings, friends, and chosen family supporting someone living with MS or Lupus.

This experience centers the voice of the support partner — affirming their resilience while equipping them with practical tools to navigate medical, emotional, and systemic challenges. Grounded in caregiver feedback from Wellness Week(end), the series creates a dedicated space for candid conversation, shared learning, and culturally responsive support for those supporting Black women with chronic autoimmune disease.

Participants will build disease literacy, strengthen advocacy skills, and develop sustainable strategies for long-term support.

This program aims to:

  • Increase understanding of MS and Lupus disease processes and symptom presentation.

  • Build literacy around flares, fatigue, and invisible illness.

  • Strengthen support partners’ confidence navigating medical systems.

  • Reduce feelings of isolation among support partners.

  • Increase awareness of disparities impacting Black women living with MS and Lupus.

  • Equip participants with practical tools for advocacy, communication, and sustainability.

  • Connect participants to ongoing We Are ILL programming and community pathways.
