Wellness Week(end) Is Just Three Weeks Away!

We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been cooking up for our first-ever in-person retreat! Wellness Week(end) 2022 — the only event where Black women living with MS are invited to have a seat at the table — is taking place November 4-6 in Atlanta, Georgia. It is going to be an amazing time connecting with fellow sisters in MS and learning from experts on the Black MS experience, and you don’t want to miss it! October Is Health Literacy Month

Knowledge is power, and this Health Literacy Month, we’re empowering our community to stay informed about some common MS-related terms. Many of us have had the shared experience of feeling lost when health professionals rattle off words, especially when we were newly diagnosed. Now you can feel confident in navigating the health care system with our new “Glossary of MS-Related Terms.”

Closing Out Hispanic Heritage Month

We kicked off our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with an Instagram Live featuring Crystal Bedoya, a Latina MS content creator and writer, and we’re excited to close out the festivities with another compelling conversation. Wanda Castro-Borrero and our very own Ashley M. Ratcliff discuss what led Wanda to join We Are ILL’s board, what inspired her to become a neurologist, what motivates her to advocate for the Hispanic multiple sclerosis community, cultural factors that come into play with Hispanic patients living with MS, shared decision making in the Latino community, and more.
